Overview
About Me
quiet man who loves his friends.
I'm a middle aged man of mumble mumble years.
I'm confident, and focused about life. Mostly I'm relaxed, as I like to take care of my responsibilities. I can act my age - what ever that means. I enjoy simple silliness. I'm willing to learn new things - as I have not lost the simple wonder about life. I'm also stubborn enough to stick to my guns about my convictions and principles. Jefferson once said "When it comes to the times, according to fashion, flow like a river. When it comes to principle stand like a rock!".
Passionate, Relaxed, Punctual, polite, formal, professional and overall jumble of ironic in-congruent personality traits. I hold myself to a high standard. as I'm only in competition with who I was yesterday.I love to spend time out in the woods as easily as in the concrete jungle, but prefer being out in the sticks.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Always wanted to take up surfing. The couch seemed like the safest way to learn. :)
Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
Classical. old country, big band, Brass bands, techno. a bit of punk, it varies way too much to really give you artists and such. On a limited basis hip-hop/rap.
Music should be inspiring, fun, energetic or calm. I limit rap because there is so little of it that fits into what the definition life and music is to me.
Books:
Too many books and too little time. When I had all the time I would spend my spare time in a book. As of right now I'm into non fiction. Psychology and biographies are my bent, but it does go back to Science Fiction every now and then.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I can't pick just one.
From flying in a small aircraft to riding a horse.
From walking the fields of my grandfathers farm to teaching school.
It has been a grand collection of experiences.
The best thing over all that happened in my life is becoming a dad to three amazing boys.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm old and I have lived. I had better have something by now to be able to pass on and relate.
