About Me

Hello! I'm Cha. I worked in the advertising industry for almost two years. Sadly, I realized that it's not the right field for me. Now, I'm currently a project coordinator in the development sector.

I like travelling, but more than seeing the tourist spots, I like experiencing the place I'm in. I like talking to locals, and friends I meet here in Couchsurfing.

I used to believe that I know the world. But the world slapped me in the face so hard and showed me otherwise. I realized this during my trip to a rural place in Switzerland. :)

----update----
I'm currently a graduate student in Seoul, South Korea! :)

—update 2–
Finished my masters, worked in Korea for a year and now back in Ph!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe this platform could help get across the world even if I stay on my seat. Meeting new people and knowing their stories, pasts, and aspirations, gives me a glimpse of how little I know of this world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really don't have a specific type of music that I like. But I like singing so much and I enjoy karaoke.
I like watching movies, local and foreign. My top three favorite movies are Run Lola Run (German), Kimi no Nawa (Japanese), and The Adjustment Bureau (American). I am currently prioritizing local books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Two things: climbed Mt. Fuji alone and swam with a turtle in Puerto Galera.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to teach the Filipino language. It really amazes me that this complex language was derived from Spanish and a few other languages from the countries that colonized us. I would also like to tell our rich history.

I am currently teaching myself the Japanese/Korean language. Beyond that, I would like to learn about the culture of the place I'm going to visit. Culture, I believe, is more than what our historians, journalists, or even bloggers, have documented. Especially with the constant evolution!

I enjoy hearing culture personally since it give me an idea how deep, how so long ago, or even how they are slowly forgetting about it.

I would like to share lessons I've learned from life. I know I still don't have much as I'm still young but I believe my experiences could help someone else take on a situation or a circumstance in the future.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share stories from the Philippines! I love telling stories. I am very animated and I really get into the story that I'm telling.
