Overview
About Me
Always find an 'about me' section a difficult task.
Recently I have been at a Treetop nets adventure centre and finishing off my MA.
I quite enjoy an early start, a day out exploring, good food, a cup of chamomile tea then an early night!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet like minded, new people, learn new things, experience new opinions
I like the idea of travelling alone, but never being isolated. I reckon this community enables something like that.
Interests
I started training in martial arts 15 years ago. Currently I train in kickboxing/taekwondo. I also teach a few times a week - kids and adults. My brother and I went to the WMKF championships in 2015 and as part of the England forms team came away with a gold, 3 silvers and a bronze.
I've been juggling for a few years, working in a juggling shop when I was at university, but nothing serious, more for fun.
I have a BA in fine art, and I've just started a masters in performance design.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - very mixed -Kate Bush, Maura Marling, twenty one pilots, Depeche mode, moby, bonobo, woodkid, hans zimmer, .... I also quite enjoy instrumental/classical, in fact I will give most music a chance.
Books - Pratchett, Brett, James Patterson (his more Sci Fi stuff, less so his Alex cross stuff) Tolkien, a bunch of arty social science ish things to do with pyshogeograpy/memory. Recently I have been reading bits and bobs by Richard Dawkins.
Movies - I will watch anything. The top few that stick in my memory* - Dark City, The village , Kill bill, Moon, Sunshine, I may also be a sucker for cartoons. The best movie I have seen recently has to be Coherence.
*This list may be constantly changing
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Trekked across Kenya when I was 17. Didn't die. Did get Salmonella.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some juggling/circus skills! Maybe some Yoga, also I love talking about all sorts - from art to exercise to comic books to philosophy.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can keep to myself or come and have a chat, I'm a decent cook and have the ability to clean. If you want to share some skills or have me teach you something I'm always up for a skill swap. I seem to be a little bit of a jack of all trades, so I'd love to pick up a new skill. If you are interested in art - from sketching to to conceptual, It would be fab to collaborate or go and see some art.
Food is also always a good idea - if you know of a good vegan place, I will definitely check it out with you.
Leeds is a great place, so I can show you some of my favourite places. Or at least point you in the right direction if you want to go explore solo.
