About Me

Hey!
I am Samira, 20 years old from Germany.
After I graduated from High School I decided to take a Gap Year and come to America for a year as an Au Pair (Nanny).. to explore the United States and... oh boy I had the best and the worst experience!
I don't wanna start writing about differences between Germany and America cause I'd still sit here tomorrow. Lets just say there is a lot to talk about. I really enjoy comparing cultures with american people who I've met so far.
This is one thing I hope to do when Im gonna couch surf the first time. To get to know you!
I think on every profile you gonna read.. hey im open minded and I'd love to get to know you when you'll host me, I mean what else should you say?
I can promise you that I am serious about it. Its my passion to meet new people and listen to their stories, this might explain my dream to become a Journalist, to listen to peoples stories.
I travelled a lot already and Im happy to tell you more about my favorite spots in Europe, Turkey, Israel and Morocco!
Besides traveling I enjoy doing sports! Every kind! I play soccer since I am eight, so thats probably my favorite but since I didnt really have the chance to play here in the US, I fell in love with running and working out.
I like to write, ask me about that... and to read. I enjoy going to the movie theatre and to hang out with friends. And I truly love to go to festivals, concerts... I love see operas if I can afford it!

If you wanna know more about me or have any questions just text me! I enjoy nice chats!

Viele Grüße/ Take care
Samira :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Why am I here?
I don't wanna repeat myself but I really enjoy getting in touch with people from different cultures.
You can learn a lot about each other and its just so much fun to see how different but similar we all are.
And I am convinced that its more fun to explore a place with foreign people, because they usually know the really fun places.

Right know I am not able to host anyone, cause I don't have my own apartment but when Im going back to Germany, Im gonna move to the Netherlands to study and I hope I'll find space to host people, cause I think this is how it should be.. a give and take!

Music, Movies, and Books

Tom Odell, James Bay, Emelie Sande, Santana, Izzy Bizu, Rise Against, Red Hot Chili Peppers.. the soundtrack of "La La Land" ... (ohh I love this movie) I enjoy music in general and I am used to it. My father is a hobby musician and Im listing to him rehearsing and going to his gigs since I am really young and he definitely influenced my music taste!
I can't really start with my favorite books cause they are a thousand of them, but heyyy lets talk about literature! I LOVE to read since I am a little kid but I feel like currently I am to busy ...which sucks!

And my favorite show in the moment is probably House of cards, I can't stop watching it. Especially the episodes with "Petrov" are interesting!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

SO MANY... but lets see!
probably my whole Isreal Trip! It gave me a lot to think about. Politics, society, religion..

Teach, Learn, Share

Ehm, don't drink and drive?

No I think, what I've learned with my young age is definitely that one should try to stay positive and to see the good in people and situations.
Even if you are really sick, like cancer sick, there might be something you gonna learn from it! About yourself, about your friends, about life! That might sound hard but I truly think you should be open for good things in your life and you shouldn't focus on bad experience.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My good mood and open minded character. I love to get to know people, their stories, their experiences (surprise, surprise)
Adding to that my German culture (if there is one) and stories from my travelling experiences.
