Why I’m on Couchsurfing

If I am being 100% honest, it is because sometimes I need help. As a college student from the US... Money isn't exactly the steadiest resource at my disposal and definitely much less now that I cannot work on a student visa.

Aside from that, it is because I am open to letting people and experiences into my life. I want to give myself the opportunity to grow and learn from other people!

Although I enjoy solitude, I do realize new people offer new perspectives. New perspectives are so, so valuable and offer clarity.... and if not clarity, they at least offer a moment to reflect on your own schemas and ways of thinking.

I want to be challenged and I want to step out of my comfort zone.

In the future, I’d like to help others in the same way the (my potential) hosts are doing now.

Música: everything! My taste changes depending on my mood. At the moment I’m digging cumbia from the 60s, tropicalia, soul, jazz, funk, r’n’b, psychedelic rock, punk, post punk. Some of my favorite artists are Jorge Ben Jor, Animal Collective, Badbadnotgood, ESG, The Slits, Lizzy Mercier Descloux.

Películas: Movies are fun. Ask me about Mussolini's policy making and Italian neorealism. I'm a big fan of Japanese new wave. A few of my favorite movies? Le Trou, Down By Law, Black Girl, Death By Hanging

Libros: Unfortunately I don’t do much reading for pleasure anymore! I mostly read for class, but I would like to get to the swing of it. But Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Murakami is my favorite
