About Me

I'm not yet sure of what I'll do when I grow up, but so far I'm retired from the medical field, raised 4 wonderful children, 2 girls + 2 boys, mostly on my own; now have 5 wonderful grandsons, 3 of whom I actively help with childcare. I live in the country on a couple of acres with 2 dogs & 2 cats. In 2008 I bought a BMW adventure motorcycle & try to travel as much as possible. So far I've ridden 75K miles in 38 US states & 4 Canadian provinces & hope to go to many other places.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In 2015 I rode to & through Alaska. On my way through Canada I met an English motorcyclist, John Allright, an enthusiastic and world wide couch surfer. He introduced me to couch surfing as we rode together through Alaska & Canada. I thought that it was great and met many wonderful people. It's such a great concept.

Music, Movies, and Books

Blues, Bluegrass, contemporary and classic rock, & Americana singer-songwriters. I like all types of music, but some more than others.
Movies are much the same & I enjoy watching those that are well made, but I just wish that I could see more of them.
I really enjoy reading books and articles about science including anything from particle physics & cosmology to social sciences. Lately, since I bought a motorcycle, I've also enjoyed reading about motorcycles and traveling on them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Rode on my motorcycle 13K miles on a circuitous route from Ohio to Prudhoe Bay Alaska on the Arctic ocean & back.
