About Me
My name is Sol, I'm 22. I'm French from Lyon and currently a student in Science Po Grenoble a town near the Alps. Two years ago I was an exchange student in San José at the University of Costa Rica. I love to travel. I lived a year in the US, in Wisconsin State when I was 16 and since then I just want to discover the world and meet people that will share their experiences with me and make me become more wise in some ways. I've been traveling all over Europe with interail two summers ago and the balkans ans Scotland this summer and during my year in Central America I had the chance to travel all around the continent : Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Cuba, Peru and Bolivia and now Mexico About what I like, I love to write about the world, I have a diary since I was able to write and it's always following me around. I absolutely love nature (plants, animals) and the most important thing for me is to protect the beautiful place we are living in, that's one of the reason why I decided to live in Costa Rica. I would like to work in an NGO to make the world a better place, I am vegeterian for environmental and morality purposes. I love languages I already speak french english and spanish fluently, understand a little bit of German and currently learning portuguese and Catalan! I love and need hugs, I love human connections and what one can bring to another. I love music, play the violin since I was 3 years old and also play a little bit of guitar, I am open to any instrument you can teach me haha. I love to dance: Salsa, bachata, rock'n roll, ballet anything! I also love to sing! I love everything about spirituality : meditation, yoga, philosophy, psychology, the power of energies and stones, huge fan of native cultures. But before all I love to learn: learn about life through the experiences of others, learn about other's passions, and share moments with others.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think this is the coolest app ever created I mean: in a world where everything is becoming about money I find it awesome that some people are still willing to share the place they live in with people they don't know anything about. I find it awesome that we are still able to trade without excepting anything in return and that we are able to trust people we don't know without being scared. This is going beyond the barriers of what the new society we live in trying to make us become.
I think there isn't a better way to discover a place than with someone with a local!
I never hosted anyone with couch but I really want to do it when I get back to France!
With Love!
Music, Movies, and Books
I love realistic and historical movies. My favorite one is probably "Into the Wild" because I have so much inspiration for this man that gave up everything he had to travel and just live in harmony with nature.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think the craziest thing I've done was a trail of 30 kilometers in el Parque de la Amistad in Costa Rica close to the border with Panama : three days in the middle of nowhere just carrying my backpack around the jungle and sleeping in a refuge up in the central american's moutains
Also three days in the Yasuni National Park Amazonia in Ecuador, where I shared an incredible experience with a Kichwa local families sharing their culture, their language, their activities, their local dishes
Three days I spent in San Blas Islands with the local indigenous community, being able to snorkel and see corals
