About Me

I'm currently unable to receive visitors at home because I'm renovating. I hope to be able to reorganize my space in Moñitos (Colombia) soon to welcome more travelers and continue growing this wonderful global community.

---ENGLISH BELOW---

ENGLISH

I'm Sebastián, and I've been living a nomad life with Mariana for over six years. We're usually in a motorhome traveling through South America, although we've also backpacked through Southeast Asia and traveled by motorcycle—basically any way we can keep this crazy adventure going.

If I'm writing to you will be because we have something in common or something that interests me. If you don't feel the same way, I'd appreciate a "not interested" so we can continue building something respectfully.

I graduated as an environmental engineer and worked in an office, but it was the time I spent riding my motorcycle through the Colombian mountains that truly brought me happiness.  Thanks to the courage of my now-wife, we now have a camper van in which we carry everything we truly need to live. We live with very little and have multiplied several times over: the countries we've visited, the kilometers we've traveled, the beaches we've walked... and things keep adding up every day.
We've experienced life in the countryside and in cities firsthand, different professions and social statuses, cared for animals, built things, painted, knitted, danced, hiked and swam in places we could never have had imagined, tried beekeeping, worked in hostels and lodges, cared for wild boars, groomed horses, made brooms, taught children and the children taught us, built with mud and collected eggs, learned languages and communicated with sign language, flown, sailed, drove, and been given rides.

This entire journey has been thanks to ourselves, but also to many people who have lent us a hand, opened doors for us, bought things from us, or given us jobs... I hope to share more stories and more of my life and culture with you, and if not, I still wish you luck and success in all your dreams.

I love contractions, chess, reggaeton, and salsa. My favorite phrase is: Everything flows, nothing remains. I'm Sebastián from Colombia, hopefully we would share some of ourselves.

Music, Movies, and Books

Latin music is so varied, I love listening to it and dancing it. Love to see movies, go to the theater.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Reaching the Lost City in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia, climbing the mountain for days. Traveling through La Guajira and experiencing the Wayuu indigenous culture. Living in Brazil and experiencing the Rio de Janeiro Carnival is something very difficult to explain, and I hope that everyone could experience it at least once in their life.

Teach, Learn, Share

The main motivation to be on the road is getting to know people and their cultures, the insider view! Mostly do this through volunteering, I've lived, learned, and shared wonderful and unimaginable experiences with Workaway, and sometimes found a way to have it with CS.
