About Me

A wandering soul looking forward to learning the ways of our little world, its diverse inhabitants and hopefully finding inner peace within himself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

During my travels I had found out the old, common truth- that meeting new people is absolutely amazing! Of course, I knew this before, yet it took some practice and experiences for that to actually sink in. In order to understand, sometimes we just have to venture out there by ourselves. And so, I am absolutely thrilled to find out more about different people, their cultures, listen to their life experiences and discuss what all of that means.

I think there is no better time in life to travel and make friends all over the world. We take it for granted but it is for the first time in history that we can do it globally so easily, there are very little wars going on in comparison to before - we are literally living in the Golden Age! However, it is still understandable why in quite a few countries people are still afraid of others, even of their neighbors. We here on Couchsurfing have a luck not to live that way. I cannot appreciate this more and share it with everyone whose looking for such sense of belonging.

Interests

At this moment I am especially interested in nature hiking, climbing (via ferrata), cultures, people (thats you!), reading, philosophy, museum-crawling, board games (please no monopoly) food making and travelling in general.

Used to be a metalhead but nowadays I enjoy Moby and Abba. I try my best to be tolerative and listen, learn from others instead talking about my views.

Music, Movies, and Books

I found that music is like colors. One people like the color red, while others prefer the color blue. For me it depends on the situation, setting and my feelings, but I try my best to find the most suitable genre for that perfect moment and do not stick to one.

Besides that, I currently prefer positive tunes like Italo Disco (https://open.spotify.com/playlist/37i9dQZF1DX3jWba5xiDhV?si=3e433638ac0e40c6), Folktronica (like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHVIP-5LgNo) and sometimes an instrumental Dungeon Synth (e.g. Fief II https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DffQVP6UqVQ&t). I am also quite fond of oldschool music, varying from blues to Sinatra (love Fallout Radio https://open.spotify.com/playlist/37i9dQZF1DWWYN0OyXQBvO?si=8839ead14211432c) to Prodigy style. However, I am a retired metalhead and used to listen to a lot of heavy metal, such as black/death metal and of course post rock, classical rock and alternative/indie music.

From the reading side I am a huge fan of high fantasy (Brandon Sanderson, George R. R. Martin, J. R. R. Tolkien), science fiction (Frank Herbert), "mindfulness" orientated books (H. Shukman, E. Tolle, A. Watts) thriller (Steven King) and scientific books (the recent interesting read was Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker, absolutely recommended!).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

2022 Camino de Lituano 500km+ on foot followed by a month of Via Ferrata Eurotrip Slovakia-Austria-Slovenia-Italy-France-Spain right afterwards with Juste to celebrate our wedding.

But if you think about it, breathing is pretty amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am more than happy to share my observations of mindfulness, self-awareness and meditation. I am also always interested in sharing places to check in wilderness (such as hiking/mountaineering trails in Europe), philosophical debates, psychology of human body, discussion over most of the science topics, complex board games, tales from the trips and most importantly - P.M.A (positive mental attitude 🤗).

I've have also successfully established a Fiverr profile based on fantasy/science-fiction writing in video/board game developing and went there full-time for a while, so if you seek to try something similar in freelancing topic or exchange experiences I would definitely be interested in sharing what little I know. :) To see me in motion you can check the profile here www.fiverr.com/pugnatabula
