Overview
About Me
Hi there! My name is Alex, and I have lived in the greater Seattle area my entire life. The political climate here in the U.S. is encouraging me to leave. I want to move abroad but don’t really have the first clue about how to do that... I am ready to jump on a plane literally and go find a new job and new life abroad. If anyone is willing to have me crash with them for a few days, and know anyone hiring an English only speaker (as a bonus), I would be forever indebted. I have never been on Couchsurfing before, but have heard good things and am encouraged that something like this even exists.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I guess I sort of answered that in the the "About Me" section, but I want to see the world, and not only see it but be a global citizen in the sense of helping the world. I want to be a part of something bigger than myself, and have never been more ready to get out of my comfort zone and see what else is out there.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have an eclectic taste in music. Whatever strikes my fancy on any given day is what I'll play- anything from 90's country, 80's hair bands, current pop, Disney sound tracks, etc. I love movies and books that make you think. There is nothing better than having a great conversation with someone you just saw an incredible movie with. Stephen King is my favorite author, not only because I enjoy scary books but because his writing resonates with me. I also love Clive Barker, Ken Follett, Terry Goodkind, Kate Atkinson, Jonathon Franzen, Joe Hill, Jayne Anny Phillips, and Khaled Hosseini. My favorite movies include Donnie Darko, The Sixth Sense, and Interstellar.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have gone back to school after a long hiatus of just working. Being in school full time and working full time has been such a challenge, and I'm so proud of myself for sticking with it.
