My name is Mara, I'm 27yo and I’m from Brazil 🇧🇷 but I currently live in Tenafly/NJ.

I've been part of the CouchSurfing community for a few years now, but I only started using the app for real in 2019 (before the pandemic), when I went on a really long trip and visited several states and beautiful cities in Brazil.

Since then I’ve realized how much this community can provide us with incredible experiences, being able to meet people from all over the world and have as many cultural exchanges as possible, which is one of the things that most instigate me to discover the world. I also try to deviate from the pattern of visiting places only as a tourist, but rather getting to know the city through the eyes of someone who really lives there :)

People around me usually say that I'm extroverted, funny, adventurous, very talkative and that I'm good company (the last one I say by myself hahaha JK). To sum up, I love traveling, being in contact with nature and making good friends!!

I really believe in the CS philosophy, I think the community is amazing for the ways it provides cultural exchanges, meeting people from different regions and places of the world, exchanging experiences and creating bonds and friendships that can last a long journey 🌸✨

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I listen to music all the time and I enjoy everything a lot, but I have to confess that R&B lives in my heart. As well as samba and pagode (Brazilian Rhythm).
I like to read fiction a lot, but also like to listen to true stories and every now and then I try to watch a series. I love singing, music for me is life.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Just before the madness of the pandemic started, I took a huge trip visiting several cities and states in Brazil, this trip made me know almost the entire country. For me to know the country where I was born and raised was a dream, and I did it beautifully, so this is something incredible for me 💜

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I'm a communicative person, I love learning new things, especially about the local culture, and talking about cooking then... I really like cooking, especially Brazilian food, so I'm sure we can exchange some recipes. I also love photography, but I'm an amateur.
