I have lived most of my life outside of Philadelphia in southern New Jersey. My parents were both teachers. I have many years of experience in the auto repair industry, and have been teaching it at a public high school for the past dozen years. I have a daughter who recently graduated college and moved to Washington DC.

I saw this website mentioned on a blog about cheap ways to do Europe, and thought it was a fantastic way to meet new people. I can have a conversation with anyone and find people fascinating. Finding out about differences in environment, food, cultural habits, rituals, attitudes etc. that are new to me and different from mine is why this experience calls to me.

The Who, Pink Floyd, Zeppelin era stuff mostly, some Sinatra, Bach, BB King anything but rap that I cant understand the lyrics to. Movies are The Godfather, Shawshank Redemption, Caddyshack, Animal House, Full Metal Jacket. Books, some Stephen King and the required high school classics sorry to say I am not a big reader.Most of the books I read are technical and related to auto repair.

I can share experiences with a host, many stories about life in my country and the fun, crazy, stupid hair raising things we have done. I can share recipes and if they wish prepare some dishes, I do not mind cleaning. I could certainly teach them about cars if they want.
