when I was in Mauritania for a road trip Mauritania Senegal by road I discovered lots of extraordinary facts about Mauritanian culture.
Families force-feed their daughters so that they become almost obese because it is a criterion of beauty and wealth.
the more weight she gained, the richer she would have a husband.
The same goes for the skin color, women only go out at night to avoid the sun's rays because white skin is a criterion of nobility and beauty.
So the paler you are and avoid the sun the better it is to find a noble husband.
