Hi :)

My name is Mariana! Me and my partner João are a Portuguese couple of 25 years old. We are hardworkers and very keen to learn new things, being open to explore new cultures and experiences.
After 2 years in the Azores islands we decided to take a gap year to travel in order to truly get to know ourselves and develop new skills by getting in touch with different people, cultures and experiences.

I am a calm and positive person. I love animals and being surrounded by nature. I also love outdoors /ocean activities like scuba, freediving, surf, hiking, practising yoga ...
The past 7 years I have been studing and working as a marine biologist.

João is a bit shy and quiet but can be really passionate and focused about his interests or while learning something new. He loves adventure, music and nature eager about biotecnology, plants and fungi, holding a degree in Biology.

We traveled together to a few different countries, and now we feel that India, Southeast Asia, Central and South America have a lot to teach us :)

Currently we are in Índia, but we are going to Cambodia on the 17th January. On February we are going to Laos and March to Vietname.

Later in 2023 we intend to go to Central and South America (Guatemala, Colombia, Peru,..).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We would love a place to stay in Cambodia (January 2023), Laos (February 2023) and Vietname (March 2023), while learning and conecting with different people and cultures :)
