About Me
Hi! My name is Anastasia
I was born in Russia, in the southern part of Siberia, Republic of Khakasia
I became a finalist of the program "Year of Exchange in America for Russians" and I will spend 1 year in the USA since I got a chance to visit the United States and I wanna visit as many states as possible!
My favourite phrase and credo is “if not now then when?”
I like to experience this wonderful life and never waste a minute to enjoy it! I am open to exploring cities, nature, culture, cuisine, and your favorite places!
I really into music, karaoke is my fav pastime 😅 I sing everywhere! Currently I am learning how to play the piano, can play the guitar.
I currently study at WLU, West Virginia.
My sphere of study is economics, also I am interested in web-design)
you do not find a happy life , you make it 💌
------------
Hi!! I'm Olga, Anastasia's friend and travel buddy :) We are participants of the same program and I am an exchange sudent in West Liberty University too. I am coming from a Siberian city called Omsk where I study in university. I major in Translation and Translation Studies with two languages (English and Spanish). I love lingustics and foreign languages, and I've been studying Chinese when I was at school.
I believe that we all have come to this world to be friends, not enemies. I chose to study translation because I believe in the power of language to build bridges between peoples and cultures. This is very important in our conflict-ridden world.
I like to play ukulele, dance hip-hop and contemporary. I am also into ballet, but I'm just an amateur. In general, I like to trust the flow and just see where my open-mindedness and natural curiousity will bring me while travelling. I just as open to exploring cultures, citied and nature as Anastasia, and I'm also eager to share my values and experience.
:)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing appeals to me as a cultural ambassador i want to immerse myself in American culture and share my knowledge about my motherland)
I strongly believe word of mouth has huge power, through communication, we can influence everything!
I enjoy traveling and meeting new people, relishing the opportunity to spend time together and exchange fresh experiences whenever possible.
-------
Since Anastasia and I have been traveling across the U.S. for some time now, I realized that the only way to truly experience the city is to find a person to whom this city is home. Only then the city will open to you and you'll be able to see its authentic spirit. Couchsurfing is a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in a different lifestyle and gain an absolutely unique experience.
I also love to share my knowledge and values, because I believe that cultural and language exchange really make a difference.
