About Me

Hello! I’m Burak, 27 years old and from Istanbul, Turkey. I recently graduated from Istanbul University with a degree in Economics and I’m currently working at Coca-Cola İçecek while preparing for graduate school applications abroad hoping to pursue an MSc in Economics somewhere in Europe. Life is pretty full right now, but travel has always been my way of recharging.
I did an Erasmus semester at Roma Tor Vergata University in Rome, which was honestly one of the best experiences of my life. Living abroad taught me that the most memorable moments come not from sightseeing, but from the people who show you their city through their own eyes. That’s what brought me to Couchsurfing.
I’m open-minded, laid-back, and genuinely curious about different ways of life. I enjoy deep conversations just as much as exploring a new neighborhood, trying local food, or simply sitting somewhere beautiful with a good book.

As a guest, I’m respectful of your space and routines, easy to communicate with, and always happy to share stories over a meal or a coffee. I believe good hosting and good guests are what make this community special.
Looking forward to the next adventure and to meeting the people who make it memorable!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most extraordinary experiences of my life was my journey to the enchanting land of Morocco. I found myself captivated by the country's rich history, vibrant culture, and stunning landscapes. But the highlight of my trip was undoubtedly my adventure into the Sahara Desert.

Stepping away from the bustling medinas and the verdant Atlas Mountains, I embarked on a camel trek into the heart of the Sahara. Swathed in traditional Berber attire, I rode atop a gentle camel, my guide leading us deeper into the desert as the sun began its descent. The landscape around me was an endless expanse of golden sand dunes, their peaks and valleys shifting with the whims of the wind. It was a scene straight out of an Arabian Nights tale.

That night, I slept in a traditional Berber tent, lulled to sleep by the quiet hum of the desert. The serenity of the Sahara, the simplicity of desert life, and the hospitality of the Berber people left an indelible mark on my heart.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a keen learner myself. I am always curious to learn about different cultures, languages, and cuisines. I appreciate it when others share their knowledge and experiences with me, as it allows me to grow and broaden my perspectives.

Sharing, for me, goes beyond just knowledge. I love sharing stories, experiences, laughter, and even silence. It is through these shared moments that we truly connect with others on a deeper level.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share stories and experiences from my travels, and maybe even inspire a future trip for you. Lastly, but most importantly, I can share respect, gratitude, and positivity, ensuring a harmonious and enjoyable experience for all.
