Hello, I'm Pidot! I'm a Filipino living in Fukuoka, Japan.

I am an aerospace engineer finishing my Master's degree at Kyushu University. My passion revolves around music, fitness, and meeting new people.

In terms of music, since I was kid, I've been performing on stage, joining singing competitions, playing the guitar and piano, and sometimes joining in bands. Recently, I'm just making covers and writing songs on my free time. Music is my outlet for everything.

In terms of fitness, I strive for a balanced and healthy lifestyle. I love to hike, cycle, swim, gym and do calisthenics. But I also like to drink, hop on bars, and sleep too much haha

Lastly, it energizes me to meet people from different cultures. I have always kept a curious and open mind. Being around people with different yet similar experiences with me broadens my philosophy of the world and the universe.

PHILOSOPHY

Coming from humble beginnings and now pursuing a profession that constantly reminds me of our limited knowledge of the observable universe, the relativity of time, and the inevitability of death—I just want to be remembered for being happy, kind, and for making life worth living.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Apparently, I am still a student living independently. I want to travel the world but I still can't due to financial constraints. So while I have a comfortable apartment in Japan, then I will let the world travel to me. I will host travelers, learn from them, make friends with them, until eventually I can pursue my own travel journey.

Music, Movies, and Books

As a musician, being asked "what's your favorite song?" is yet the most difficult question haha. Personally, I listen, play, and sing a range of genres. If a song simply evokes emotions—dance, cry, smile, grieve—then its role is fulfilled.

In movies, I like Academy award winning films! I like understanding deeper about the art and story of the films. My top picks are La La Land, Whiplash, Good Will Hunting, and Interstellar.
