Hello, I'm Pidot! I'm a Filipino living in Fukuoka, Japan.

I am an aerospace engineer finishing my Master's degree at Kyushu University, Japan. My passion revolves around music, physical activities, and exploring cultures and places.

In terms of passion for music, since I was kid, I've been performing on stage and joining singing competitions. Recently I've been working on simple projects for myself such as writing songs and creating covers. I can play the guitar and piano too. (Feel free to visit my instagram: @pidoten)

In terms of physical activities, I love hiking! I have hiked around 10 mountains in Fukuoka prefecture in one year. I also love swimming, cycling, gym and calisthenics.

In terms of exploring cultures, I have always kept an open mind. Being around people with different yet similar experiences with me broadens my philosophy of the world and the universe. It is also my personality to remain curious about other people's perception of life and way of living. I believe wisdom starts from awareness, and awareness starts from curiosity.

I'm on Couchsurfing because my friend introduced it to me. I've been inspired by his stories and the people he meets when he travels. So I aspire to meet people from all over the world share the same experience too.

Music, Movies, and Books

In music, I have deep interests in all kinds of genre. I believe an artist should not be constrained in one category of music. Also, I believe the purpose of music is to evoke emotions. It must speak to your soul, it can either make you smile or cry or dance or anything in between. For now, I'm listening to old songs, jazz, and rock music.

In movies, I like Academy award winning films! I like understanding deeper about the art and story of the films. My top picks are La La Land, Whiplash, Good Will Hunting, and Interstellar.
