Hi! I’m Melissa from Malaysia 🇲🇾~I am an active person, easygoing and open-minded as well. I just completed my medical degree and before starting my career, I decided to explore a bit through travelling and couchsurfing~ I am new to this platform but have experiences of being hosted for cultural exchange program in the US. I love discovering new cultures, meeting people from different backgrounds and trying local food everywhere I go! I am joining couchsurfing because I believe the best way to explore a place is through the people who live there!!

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I want to meet people and learn from their cultures + create meaningful connections. I think couchsurfing allows me to experience the world not just through places, but through the people who live there.
Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy all kinds of music, especially musicals like Hamilton and Phantom of the Opera. For movies-I’m a fan of the James Bond 007 series and action-adventure films. One of my favourite books is The Fault in Our Stars
One Amazing Thing I've Done
I participated in an cultural exchange program and had an unforgettable 6 months living with a host family. We shared stories, meals and traditions. It was a life-changing experience that truly opened my heart and mind to cultural connection.
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy swapping travel stories, learning new recipes and discovering local customs. I’m always open to learning something new, whether it’s a language, a skill or a new perspective on life. I’d also love to share my passion for cooking and travelong!
What I Can Share With Hosts
I’d be happy to share stories from my travels, cook you a Malaysian meal, teach you Chinese or Malay and exchange cultural experiences. Whether it’s food, music or conversation as I believe sharing makes everything richer.
My Interests
I’m passionate about traveling, exploring new places and connecting with people through culture, food and stories. I enjoy photography, festivals, hiking, being in nature, backpacking, cooking, baking and learning new things, especially languages. Volunteering, community events and even a casual game of volleyball are all things I love getting involved in.
