My name is Thomas Fresneau, I am 20 years old and I am French. I am studying as an exchange student at San Marcos, Texas( one hour from Austin). I am majoring in History. I would like to be a History teacher for high school students, either in France or in the USA. I really like my life in Texas so far. People are so welcoming, the weather is great and the food portion sizes are awsome ! My hobbies are practicing sports( gym, basketball, swimming)I also like reading travel books. I love learning, especially geography and history. I'm a good listener, dynamic and serious. During my last year of secondary school, I was a volunteer with the OPAR association. I visited an elderly person in her home once a week. These daily meetings were enriching for both of us. I have a fabulous experience in Woofing. Two years ago, I spent four months in Ireland doing Woofing. I have a lot of skills like (milking goats, alcohol production, sowing seeds, organic farming, etc.)

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I love connecting with people from different cultures and backgrounds. Traveling for me isn’t just about seeing new places—it’s about experiencing life through the eyes of locals, learning their stories, and sharing my own. I enjoy meaningful conversations, discovering hidden gems in cities, and building friendships that go beyond borders. Couchsurfing gives me the opportunity to experience authentic cultural exchange, practice openness and hospitality, and be part of a global community that values curiosity, trust, and human connection. I’m here to meet people who are passionate about life, eager to share their perspectives, and open to forming genuine connections that might last a lifetime.

One Amazing Thing I've Done
“An amazing thing I’ve done was traveling alone across Ireland. I set out with no one but myself, visiting so many cities, exploring hidden corners, and meeting locals along the way. Some nights were unexpected—I even ended up sleeping in a police station twice! But every challenge and surprise taught me something new about the world and about myself. I discovered strengths, courage, and independence I didn’t know I had, and I learned to embrace uncertainty and adventure in a way I never had before. That journey was more than just sightseeing—it was a journey of self-discovery, and it changed the way I see life and myself forever.
Teach, Learn, Share
“I can share my French lifestyle! From cooking traditional dishes, enjoying local markets, and savoring good wine and cheese, to sharing stories about French culture and daily life—I love bringing a little piece of France wherever I go. It’s not just about food or traditions, but about experiencing life the French way, and I’d love to share that with my hosts and fellow travelers.
