About Me
LIFE MISSION
If someone EVER asks about me, you can tell I am saving the galaxy. That's my current mission.
MISSION FOR 2015 [Accomplished - Wohoow!]
It seems to happen that this year the galaxy is safe already (how boring), so I'm taking some time to travel (yeiii, not boring anymore). Forget your summer of 69, mr. Bryan Adams, cause I'm coming to the summer of 2015, and it will make yours seem like my grandma's (and she rocks!).
Sooo, I made some arrangements on my bike and I'm heading, from my hometown - Sintra, to [...drums...] SLOVENIA!!
"You must be out of your mind!" - my mother says.
"Thanks, mom. I love you too." - replies the #sonoutofmind.
Actually, it's not that big of a deal. Despite the 2300 km distance between the current Tiago (aka me) and the happy traveller Tiago (aka me in 2 months), it will be on an average of 70 km a day, which even my little sister would do (I am lying, I have no sisters).
CURRENT MISSION
As the mission of 2015 went successfully, I can prossigue for the next mission. That would be, yeah, living the Erasmus dream and visiting everything around.
ABOUT ME
It was a long time ago that I met the CS concept (if my profile isn't lying, since '11), but it was just this year that I turned my attention into it. And hey, it's a pretty awesome platform!
I used to travel around Portugal, and not outside it, to save some money (difficult times, han!). When I get some nice and cheap trips, I go for it.
I am oppened to meet anyone of the world. Text me and we can meet. I'm not an expert about the history of Sintra, but I know many things about it.
PHILOSOPHY
Carpe Diem.
Be the change you want to see in the world.

Interests
I am a very peaceful guy, who likes to enjoy the nature and reflect about life. I love music, despite not knowing how to play anything (just some chords on the guitar = cliche). I also love to take photos to everything. There was a time that I used to surf. That's past, tho.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music.
Any kind.
At the moment I more often listen to dub, jazz, tango, swing and electro.
Movies.
The ones I love the most are the ones that put your head to think. Shutter Island is a good example.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Portugal > Slovenia by bicycle.
Slept in a Palace for 1 night.
Knocked on random doors while travelling for 1 month to ask spontaniously if I could stay for the night to sleep.
Wild camped in the Alps alone.

Even worse than the conviction of a “not!” and the uncertainty of a “maybe” is the disappointment of an “almost”.
It's the “almost” that bothers me, which saddens me, and kills me, bringing everything that could have been but never was.
Who almost won still play, who almost got through the examination still study, who almost died is still alive. Who almost loved didn't love.
Just think about the opportunities that slipped through your fingers, the chances lost for fear, the ideas that never leave the paper because this accursed habit of living in the Fall.
Sometimes I ask myself what makes us choose a warm life, or better I don't ask, I contest. The answer I know by heart, it is stamped on distance and coldness of the smiles, in the laxity of hugs, in the indifference of "good morning" almost whispered with no energy.
Remains the cowardice and lacks the courage even to be happy. Passion burns, love maddens, desire betrays... Perhaps these were good reasons to decide to stay between joy and pain, to feel nothing.
But they aren't.
If virtue really was in the middle ground, the sea would have no waves, the days were cloudy and the rainbow would be in shades of gray.
The "nothing" doesn't enlighten, doesn't inspire, doesn't afflict nor calm, it simply amplifies the emptiness that each one of us brings inside.
It doesn't mean that faith can move mountains nor that all stars are reachable. In fact, for the things that can't change, it's necessary some patience. However, to prefer the previous defeat rather than the doubt of victory is wasting opportunity to earn it.
For mistake there is forgiveness. For failure, chances. For impossible love, there is time. It's not worth to surround an empty heart or to save the soul. A romance whose ending is instantaneous or painless is not a romance.
Don't be suffocated by the nostalgia, accommodated by the routine or prevented to try by fear. Distrust your destiny and believe in you.
Spend more time accomplishing than dreaming, doing than planning, living than expecting because, although who almost died is still alive, who almost lives is already dead.
