CURRENT MISSION

I am in transition, but want to travel. Hoping to find a way to be involved with research on medicinal properties of plants. I love to make soap, and want to bestow my cold-processed soap on folks who put me up.

ABOUT ME

I love the idea of staying with real people while traveling. I like people and enjoy helping them with health and other problems. I have grown children who live in Louisiana, Portland, Oregon, Dallas and Columbus, OH. I have two grandchildren in Louisiana. I am ready to change my life and take on new adventures, perhaps some travel to places I've never been. I would love to go to Europe and Russia, maybe Madagascar.

PHILOSOPHY

I would like my life to contribute to the well-being of others and the planet, but am concerned about our mad dash toward overpopulation and capitalism at any cost. It is distressing.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to be a host to travelers and share beautiful local places with them. I also want to meet people and find out about them and the place where they live. At present all I have is space for a sleeping bag or two, but soon I hope to have a free bedroom.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A long time ago I used to stay with friends at their places. I have also done this on a more limited basis more recently. I was able to reconnect with an old high school friend who now lives in south Texas. I had planned to visit her, but things didn't work out. I hope to be able to do it in the future.

Herbs and making herbal body products with all good ingredients. Living close to the earth and minimizing my impact on the planet. Vegan food preparation. Earth-sheltered and straw bale house construction. I love to go to contra dances (New England line dancing), and be around live music.

I used to live in Boulder, Colorado, and would make trips up to high mountain country. We got to gather and identify wild mushrooms and eat them with brown rice and zucchini, absolutely fabulous!

I'd enjoy teaching others how to make cold-processed soap and lotions. But it would take time and planning to do this since there are a lot of materials involved.
