Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Not through the website, but still a good one. My boss at the bike courier company went to Glasgow for a race in 2002. He had a list of couriers he met while there. When my girlfriend and I went there in 2006, he gave me a list of peoples' names. When we got off the train downtown, we walked up to the first messenger we saw and asked if he knew any of the people on our list. He said, "Aye! That's me!" His name was first on our list. He wrote his address on our list and told us if we can't find his house we can't stay there. If we find it, we're free to stay as long as we need to. So we found it, and he put us up for three nights took us out to show us the sights, introduced us to a lot of great people, and we drank way too much. It was excellent.
Interests
I enjoy good coffee, beer, and food. I love bicycling, music and biology. My wife is an artist, and I've been learning more about art and appreciation thereof. I like the outdoors, and try to go camping several times a year. I'm getting more interested in fishing.

Music, Movies, and Books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ate deep-fried pizza in Glasgow. Watched some drunken French street-kids argue about dog-care in front of the Bastille monument in Paris. Took the Crypt Mountain Hike in Waterton National Park. Married a really fun and excited person.
Teach, Learn, Share
Talk to people who seem friendly, even if it seems awkward. Learn the history of where you live. Take time to explore places you think you know like the back of your hand.
