I love couchsurfing for the practice of not-needing-much.

Coming from Los Angeles, US, I'm so often surrounded by a culture of commercialism that says we always need to have more more more... Work harder to make more money... Buy more stuff to keep us from being miserable... Yuck.

Couchsurfing is one of the ways I enjoy escaping that whole mentality... Going a little more minimal, trying to let go of the need to control experience, and being open to whatever unexpected awesomeness life has in store.
