Music, Movies, and Books
Hesse, Steinbeck, Rich, Woolf, Mernissi, Said, Dostoevsky, Montessori, Gardner, Abu-Lughod, Abouzeid, Bronte, Dogen, Borges, ahhh too many to list.
The Beatles, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, The Polyphonic Spree, Joni Mitchell, Talking Heads, Cat Stevens, Portishead, Edgar Meyer, Chick Corea, Um Kalthum, Miles Davis, Geeta Dutt, Budos Band... again too many. Basically, you can get me dancing with lots of bluegrass and find me at peace with classical and jazz.
For movies, I watch a lot of documentaries. Werner Herzog is by far one of my favorite directors. Bus 174 is amazing, and Battle of Algiers. I like a lot of Japanese and Korean films; gotta love Kitano. Big zombie movie fan. Dawn of the Dead 2 one of my favs. I also love the Simpsons and Futurama.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Watched a monkey steal my bag of corn flakes and drink my coffee in Shimla, India.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you want to learn how to knit, I always carry yarn and needles around with me. I also carry lots of tea, which we can drink and share while we knit.
