We want to see as much of the high desert area during Scott's postdoc at UNR as our family grows.

ABOUT ME

We are a loud American and a tea-drinking Brit who love to meet new people and travel to amazing new places. Scott studies wild bird physiology and Emily loves to connect kids and families to nature.

PHILOSOPHY

Every day is a school day; which basically means that there is always something new to learn or a new way to look at something.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far, we have just surfed (on a month-long trip through Europe), but now that we have a house of our own, we can take on a few surfers. We cannot wait to start giving back to the system that has already given us so much.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As a CS friend of ours said, "Really, when you think about it, most people you meet are friendly and kind, and CSers are the select group of those people." How can you go wrong with that? :)

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Scott almost stepped on a Western Diamond-backed Rattlesnake while studying birds in the Sonoran Desert. It was an amazing experience to be so close to one of the few remaining animals that can seriously harm a human!
Emily experienced literally earth shaking thunder and lightening storms at a research station in Colorado that was at 9500 ft. surrounded by 1200ft. mountains.

We both have a good background in Natural History (especially birds and plants) as well as knowledge of biology, ecology, zoology, but we are always excited to learn new things in these areas, particularly in places that are new to us.
Emily also majored in Art History with a focus in 17th century Dutch art, and knows quite a bit about ancient Romans. Scott, as much as he can when we travel so much, loves to play and follow football (soccer).
Both Emily and Scott are learning day by day how to be parents with the help of toddler, George!
