About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Creating my future

ABOUT ME

I love to learn and hate working for corporations that don't allow any creative freedom. I have learned from my friends and community that sharing is the most meaningful action that one may take.

I have been living in Maryland, very close to Washington, D.C., for the past year now. I just realized that I'm in the perfect position to be sharing my home for the time being, so hit me up. I love meeting new people from different places. I love to cook and make things grow.

PHILOSOPHY

Respect all that exists. No matter if you agree with it or not, it exists. This attitude brings out the best in everyone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am offering my home for couch surfers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I love sleeping on other peoples' couches. I haven't met any couches on here yet though. I've only participated in informal couch surfing in my backpacking days so far.

Interests

Community, education (mine and others'), local government, reading, reading and more reading. The relationship of individuals to their community fascinates me which is the main reason for my walking trip.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books, definitely. Ray Bradbury; Frank Herbert; Earl Shorris - "Riches for the Poor", "Latinos; the Bible (even though I am not Christian, I do believe that that Jesus dude had some very enlightened things to say). Local bands are where it's at; Glossary from Murfreesboro, Tennessee are my absolute favorite. And Built to Spill who are not from TN.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I ran for election to the Murfreesboro(TN) City School Board in 2008. I didn't win, but the learning experience made it all worth it. It was a truly great and fun experience. The most amazing thing that I have done though, is volunteering for the Southern Girls Rock and Roll Camp (sgrrc.org) for four years. It changed my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

The School of Life is the only one that is worth anything, in my opinion. Here is the great secret of life: Our society, culture, government, etc, is controlled by individuals. No matter how much you want to talk about "the government", "the system", et. al., you are "the government", even if you don't actively participate. You are the only person who can make YOU happy. Respect these things, they exist and they wield a lot of power. Remember, change is always possible. It may seem trivial, but everything matters.Nothing matters I want to share in your dreams for the future and your knowledge of NOW.
