About Me

I consider myself an open minded, down to earth person. Cheerful, with a rather quirky sense of humor. Sometimes awkward, most of the time happy and a bit of a dreamer. I like lazy evenings with friends as much as dancing till the sun rises. But I also appreciate a serious, healthy discussions over a glass of wine. I'm generally interested in learing about cultures and discussing traditions, history and politics of the country that I'm visiting.

I enjoy sitting by any type of water - be it the ocean or a fountain, good food, nature, people-watching, street artists, getting lost in a city, making the first step in fresh-fallen snow. I'm trying to contribute something good to the world and strongly believe that it starts with small gestures, such as opening your house and heart to a fellow traveller.

PHILOSOPHY

be happy, be curious, be passionate. Smile :)
Life is too beautiful to be spent in one place.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a traveller, I like to experience a city from a non-touristic side, talk to locals and learn about the city/country/culture. As a host, I like to show people around my hometown Basel and proof them that Switzerland is not only mountains :) I strongly believe that couchsurfing opens minds and borders and I love being a part of that.

I've lived in Nice for a while where me and my two flatmates turned our apartment into some kind of Couchsurfer's paradise. We became famous for our big family dinners and hosted people almost every night; one night we even managed to fit 7 guests in our apartment :) These months in Nice remain unforgettable and I'm grateful to have met so many amazing people from all over the world.

So far being a part of couchsurfing has been amazing and inspring experience. It has taught me so much and I wouldn't want to miss a single day of hosting and surfing. It's been a great adventure!

Interests

Nature, scuba diving, culture, people, the world, horse riding, learning new things. Laughing, dancing, living, letting the world surprise me.

No need to mention travelling, right? :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I like many different artists and styles and love to discover new stuff. Some of my all time favourites are Holzier, Lukas Graham, Aloe Blacc, Ben Howard, George Ezra, Alle Farben, Esteman, Eddie Vedder, Carlos Vives, Gramatik, Tom Odell, Monkeybrain, J Balvin, Lexer, Peer Kusiv, Chase & Status and Fonseca.

I appreciate movies that make me think: Paraiso Travel, Memento, les Intouchables, Into the wild, Brick Lane, Four Lions, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Kite Runner, Tsotsi, die Welle, la Haine, and so many more. Always grateful for inspiration!

Books: travel literature and Siddharta

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sailing from Colombia to Panama and finding paradise in the middle of the Caribbean Sea.

I think life itself is pretty amazing as well.

Teach, Learn, Share

Learning Russian right now, and it's giving me a hard time ;)
I'm generally happy to learn anything new and different.

Not sure about what to teach you :)

What I Can Share with Hosts
