About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet new people in my travels of like minds and intertests...

ABOUT ME

Hi all. Name's Ben. Avid traveler, and native son of Orlando. :) Currently in downtown Orlando, FL, in the bars/clubs/restaurants/shopping district. I look forward to giving surfers the downtown experience. Mickey mouse is most definitely my neighbor. I'm open to meeting new friends and helping travelers in any way I can. Cheers!

PHILOSOPHY

Caution can keep you alive....and keep you from living. As Emerson wrote "may you always do what you are afraid to do". I believe in living my life this way, facing fear at every turn. Only then, can your inner explorer mature...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I typically try to CS everywhere I go. I'll fall back on a hostel if I must, but CS is definitely my preferred way to travel. I also like to attend local events.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing, for me, has been an incredible experience. The people I've met, and what they've shown me has been overwhelming. There truly is no way you can see through CS what you would see in a Hyatt or Hilton. Human contact is invaluable and CS reminds me that this "muscle" needs to be exercised regularly on the path to becoming a good human being.

Interests

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving, hiking 7 miles to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, Smelling the air of the Argentine coastline, sleeping in airports, surviving on trail mix and sport beans on a remote trail...

Teach, Learn, Share

-In 2015, my city of Orlando, the nations most visited destination, became the 1st city in American history to pass the "60 million visitors per year" threshold. To date, no other American city (not even New York City) has achieved this mark. Our number, as of 2017, was 68.5 million visitors. That, my friends, is the power of Mickey Mouse and Harry Potter ;)

-At a massive 105 sq km, the property of Disney World Orlando is nearly twice the size of Barcelona, Spain. Accommodations in this area are forbidden unless they are Disney hotels, so you're looking at least 25 minutes commute, no matter where you stay.

(Just a note, I don't accept requests for 1 night stays, thanks!)

What I Can Share with Hosts

What I love about couchsurfing- what I owe it the most - is the lifelong friends I have made through the community. And it IS a community, not a hotel altenative, or just some free place to stay while one strikes off during the day. I believe in interacting with my hosts, getting to know them, learning about their everyday lives, while being respectful of whatever busy schedules they may have to keep while hosting me. Wether hosts can spend a day with me or an hour, I'm eternally grateful for having met each and every one of them...
