About Me

Hey Couch Surfers!

So, big update, WE'VE moved from Seattle to Kingston WA, a charming little town on the way to the Olympic Peninsula. So, if you are heading our way, we would love to host you. No longer in Seattle...but we love our new home, so, come on out and we will still show you a great time!

We moved here 3 years ago from Chicago where we lived for 15 years. Before that, we both lived on the east coast (DC and NYC). I now split my time between Seattle and New York and have a place in both cities. So, keep that in mind if you ever travel to NYC. :)

We are both super outdoorsy and every chance we get we head to the great outdoors. The city is fun as well, so we enjoy getting out and exploring the food and drink scene. Seattle is growing and getting better day by day with lots of new and exciting places to try.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We really enjoy meeting new people. We love to support those with open minds and hearts looking to enrich their lives through travel. For us, Couchsurfing is more than just providing a warm place to sleep, it's about creating lasting friendships.

We love to share our city and country with travelers and we want your time in Seattle to be as memorable as possible. We can provide guidance on what to see and where to eat/drink. We can also offer up our membership cards to certain museums. : ) Why pay?

All are welcome! We have a private room with a view of downtown and the Space Needle as well as a private bath with a shower. We also have an extra indoor parking spot, if needed and two lovely cats to entertain you and plenty of wine, scotch and great stories to share.

Interests

Hiking, my work, volunteering, friends/family, skiing, great food and drink, reading and learning anything, sailing, kayaking, fly fishing, traveling, animals of any kind, meeting new and exciting people.

Want a guide for the great outdoors? Learn to fly fish? Kayack or hike to one of hundreds of waterfalls or just enjoy a tasty cocktail downtown, we can do this.

Music, Movies, and Books

Jazz/Blues, Classical, classic rock, some rap, some country and some R&B.

Frankly, all my Coltrane is pretty amazing, especially the vinyl. :) We tend to start the day with classical music and end it either with Coltrane, ABBA or Jay-Z, depending on how the day went. : )

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wow...Helicopter skied in Alaska. Glider flying in Mexico. Scuba all over. Hiking in crazy places. I also love to fish in crazy rivers. I want to meet people from India and around world so I can come over and fish. I always let the fish go, so, no worries there.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love teaching people to ski, sail, fly fish, anything about nature. We can also discuss business if you want as well as I involve myself in a wide variety of business ventures. If you are a creative person (designer, writer, painter, photographer), even better!

We hire creative people all the time, so, I love to meet anyone who has a creative drive. :) That said, if you studied math or econ (like me), we can discuss that as well.

I always love to hear about someones life experiences, their culture, learn their language, cook their food and dance their dance. We only get so many revolutions around the sun, so, why not make some lasting friends to experience the journey with!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my life experiences, everything I've learned about life and business, my thoughts on US politics, our World, good and evil, how to tie perfect sailing or fishing knots, a lot about crows and other animals. Lastly, I can share anything about hiking, skiing, really, anything outdoors. :)

I can also share with you my knowledge of NYC, Chicago, DC and Seattle, the cities I've lived. Also, anything you want to know about Northern CA, where I grew up.

Lastly, want to get married to your boyfriend, girlfriend or friend, no problem, I'm an ordained Reverend with all the forms! So, just ask and we will plan the perfect ceremony.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, China, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Thailand, Ukraine, United Kingdom
