About Me

*Interested in backpacking travel, wild and flexible.

*Wanna explore not only the beauty of the nature, but also the culture, the everyday life of native people, all around the world. I prefer having some local friends who can deeply introduce me the most special things about the places...

*I'm also willing to support anyone who visits Hanoi. I would try my best to build up and enhance the image of Ha Noi and Viet Nam in your eyes - my international friends. I want to protect my country from some bad guys who are ruining the nature , the culture for their personal benefit. I want you guys to keep in your mind about a beautiful peaceful and friendly Vietnam, many years after you left our country.

*During the week day, i am busy as an office-worker and i seem to be lazy. I would be more active and crazy during the weekend. Going out for coffee, running and enjoying the music and the game overnight around Hoan Kiem lake.

JUST UPDATED 2023MARCH
I believe i'm getting some how older now, mentally and physically, indeed.
The side of exploring and experiencing mind is still alive and strong, however, the other side with life survival, business and other mess pull me back a lot.

If you do visit me during the weekend, we may play some badminton together. Or sometimes, i can take you guy to my hometown, the countryside part and away from Hanoi, enjoy some peaceful moments.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Looking for more friends and support from new friends during each trip.
Try to introduce and improve the impression of Travelers about my country-Vietnam. Share u all our beauty from a local view.
Get traveling experience and international friendship.
*Please read this carefully:
This is how Couchsurfing works to me:
+If you are looking for a host, never send a copy-paste message. At least, you have to know your potential host's name. You'd better read everything on their profile, their references to see if you have same vibes, and then send a specific message/ a customized message to that guy. Be gentle, be respectful, mind your words.
+You are welcome to ask for advices, recommendations,..But the plan and itinerary are on your own, not from my. Before asking question, think about your idea, your interest first. And try to complete your plan with those advices/ recommendations. I will not send a detailed plan for anyone.
+You are appreciated if being a verified member. You know, it means something. And be noted that an empty profile with no words, no clear philosophy will not connect us.
+I'll not respond to: copy-paste message, disrespectful guy, asking for a detailed itinerary with budget included.

*Call me Taiii at your very first mess to let me know that you look through all of those stuff

Interests

I love having a local friend during my trip so that i can get much deeper understanding about the Culture and the Human where i visit.
I prefer nice and gentle guys who are understanding, knowledgable; people who respect and treasure life, i mean while we are still living. So, if we meet, i hope we can spend some moment living slowly for deep conversation and some drink...etc...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm not quite sure about the amazing thing i've done in my life. For me, i'm just trying to discover and explore new memorable and stronger emotion, impression and experience from time to time.
For example, i did a 10km marathon and now i'm practising for a 21km Half marathon which can possibly be a preparation for a Full marathon (42km) - i hope. I love the feeling and the moment of the last steps when i cross the Finish line, the feeling of achievement and refreshing.

----UPDATE ----May 2019
And yes, i did it.
+Da Nang International Marathon (August 2018): FM 6h40'
+Ha Noi International Heritage Marathon (October 2018): 6h15'
+Hochiminh City Marathon (Jan 2019): 5h27'
You can not imagine how happy i was when i finished every race. Just do it so you can feel it too.
Yes, i'm getting stronger and i'm trying to improve the result too.
It will take me some more time until i can start practising for Triathlon (Swimming - Biking - Running). I'm not really in now, but i'm thinking and preparing for it. Yes, i'm swimming. haha

What I Can Share with Hosts

Travelling experience, attractive destination in Hanoi and Vietnam,...and if i have time, i can drive you around the city on my motorbike.
There are some certain places and something in Hanoi that i often take my guest to or i would highly recommend:
-Playing around Hoan Kiem lake -during the weekend (pedestrian only), You can see people performing and enjoying music, dancing, playing traditional games.....and better to stay until late night when you can enjoy its silence.
-Beer street if you like party and noisy places / coffee around the Cathedral if you prefer less noisy
-Watching the raising and lowering the National Flag in Ba Dinh square. (5am and 20h50 every day)
-Walking along Long Bien bridge and stop in the middle, enjoying some drink and talk about the night life (porters doing their labour work -just under the bridge); and look further down the river to see the village of homeless people living on their boat)...

A bit more information from me for planning a trip in Vietnam:
If you are able to drive motorbike in Vietnam, i can see some guys driving from North to South of Vietnam. Otherwise, train or bus are also workable.

-The significant landscape of surrounding areas (mean 100-300km within) of North: mountainous area
Keyword to reseach:
+Hanoi: Temple of Literature, Hochiminh Mausoleum, Ba Dinh Square, Hoan Kiem lake, Ta Hien street, Long Bien bridge, Hoa Lo prision, West lake
+Ninh Binh: 100km a way from Hanoi
+Tam Dao: 60km away
+Ha Long Bay: 2hour bus
+Sapa: overnight bus/ train
+Ha Giang: overnight bus (required at least 3 days)
+there is also: Moc Chau, Dien Bien Phu, Mu Cang Chai , Mai Chau with lower priority

-For middle of Vietnam:
+Vinh is less prioritized for me.
+Hue, Da Nang, Hoi An: 3 checked points, very closed to each other / just need 3 days for all
+there is also very beautiful natural province: Quang Binh (Phong Nha cave), Quy Nhon, Nha Trang.

-For Southern: the significant landscape is riverside area and sea. The Mekong delta area has quite a lot of river with floating market, living on the boat,...fishing on the sea....
Keyword to research:
+Ho Chi Minh city: Bitexco building, Landmark 81 building, Bui Vien street...
+Can Gio (1hour driving)
+Vung Tau
+Can Tho (4hours driving)
+Ca Mau (south pole of Vietnam)
+An Giang
+Phu Quoc island (30' flying from Hochiminh)

It will take you some time to research and find out yourself what you like and what u decide to visit. Because these cities will take a Vietnamese a whole life to visit them all.
