Overview
About Me
Hi! My name is Dusty Rose. It's my real name, I was named after my dad's band (thank you, parents)
I grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania outside of Pittsburgh and after one semester of college pursuing fashion design, I dropped out and joined the military.
The Army took me overseas where I was able to experience life in Soutg Korea which changed me forever.
After the military kicked me out (I'm extremely anti-authority - I had no business joining the army) I landed in Colorado where I've been for over a decade now.
I've had two children and so my travels have mostly remained in the states, but since my kids are getting older I am getting reacquainted with my traveler's spirit.
So far this year I have Banff and Ireland on my itinerary and hope to add Spain to 2024
Looking forward to meeting fellow travelers and experiencing more of the world- both within the states and internationally
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet people! I'll be in Ireland later this year and would love to immerse myself in the culture and not do the typical tourist stuff (but maybe a little of it) and I would love to host people passing through Colorado. I love this state and want to show off the best of it.
Interests
I love getting outside! People are always asking me what my favorite hiking trails are and I always say "somewhere I haven't been" I'm very artistic and love photography, painting and playing music. I love live music and I don't do enough of that. I'm pretty physically active but most of fitness routine is hiking, especially in the summer

Music, Movies, and Books
The alchemist, the power of now, the peaceful warrior, the war of art, the untethered soul
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most amazing things I have experienced was accidentally discovering a Buddhist temple in the mountains of South Korea. It's an excellent story to share over a glass of wine (or tea if you don't drink!)
Teach, Learn, Share
I'll have to look at other profiles for inspiration here but I could be a good local tour guide, give you the best spots to go for a hike or camping around Colorado and love having deep, philosophical conversations and all things epigenetics and psychology. Oh, I'm also a certified yoga instructor and a professional photographer
What I Can Share with Hosts
Hospitality, curiosity, a place to sleep or I can guide you on a photographer tour somewhere in the mountains. I specialize in landscape photography so definitely bring your hiking shoes!
