ABOUT ME

Heather and I have been living in Prince Edward County since January 2012. We moved here to start an organic farm and currently live on 128 acres of mixed fields and forests. We earn our living farming and are focusing this year on five acres of market garden vegetables. Heather has recently taken on Permaculture as a personal project for our farm. Our home is a vibrant community of interns, WWOOFers, family and renters. Our mission is to farm ethically and sustainably in pursuit of ultimate tastiness. We love good meals. We love the outdoors, local flavour, music, and life. We especially love biking when time allows.

PHILOSOPHY

Everything and everyone is linked. No one exists without the other. How we treat others creates the world we will live in.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Our house accepts couch surfers on one of our lovely couches. At certain times there might be a bed. We also rent out the East Wing of our century manor home on a weekly basis to guests who might want a bit more luxury than a couch. Surfers are also welcome to camp as they like. Couch Surfers are welcome to help on the farm if they wish and are welcome to stay as WWOOFers (willing worker on organic farm). I WWOOFed for nearly 11 months in 2008/09. And enjoyed the experience along side couch surfing.

I have surfed in every province in this country and I hope to be able to return the favour to guests seeking out rural life. The county is home to wineries, natural beauty, and great food.

In 09 I biked and surfed western Canada and I visited eastern Canada in 08 hitching, WWOOFing and surfing, I did some university degrees, I have lived in a number of cities and love to learn from others.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've stayed with a number of people in a number of different cities. I love the inside perspective on a place that couch surfing gives you and I enjoy the richness and warmth that comes from meeting new people and sharing experiences.

Life, the universe and everything. I'm a lover of music, art, literature, and I have a politics and philosophy back ground. I love outdoor sports and I write from time to time. I love to talk about farming too :)
