About Me

Hoi! I'm Funda. I recently moved to Nijmegen, Netherlands, to pursue my PhD in cognitive neuroscience, with a particular focus on crossmodal art perception and perceptual consciousness.

I'd love to connect and meet up for a coffee if you're in the area. What I really enjoy about Nijmegen is the opportunity to have a nice walk around the river or chill at a cozy cafe. It's such a peaceful and charming place to explore.

I find joy in the simple things in life – like the happiness of watching a serene sunset, engaging in a good conversation with new friends (with tea and dessert as a must-have), and even discussing plans for those far-off places we may never visit. The list of things to enjoy seems endless, reminding me that life isn't so bad after all. 😊

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Rather than getting lost in the artificial layers of cities or sticking to rigid checklists, the cities and cultures are much better felt by the help of their people.

I have met incredibly helpful people from here and that all made my experiences more memorable in beautiful places. That's why I'm on CS and thanks!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love sad songs generally from The Cranberries, Guns&Roses, Imany and Hooverphonic.
In books, the genre dystopia, and some classics.
I am interested in much the criticism of human being and decisions related movies such as Cloud Atlas, Mr. Nobody...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Without any plan, I have just taken the road to the Black Sea Region of Turkey with my best friend. We have met perfect people, had learned the most valuable life experiences of the local people, traveled by hitchhiking and nature. It was stunning, worth to see all the beauty.

Walking on the beach next to ocean at Tangier, Morocco.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not sure particularly what I can teach but I think it would be best to exchange our cultural differences.

I'm happy to share my perspective of living and experiences.
