New year, new me as they say! So it's time to give this profile a little makeover and try to convey the essence that is me, not even sure if I know what that is myself to be honest.

Anywho, it's me, Herman from Norway, hello hello. Recently moved to Vung Tau and will stay here until early May.
In due to the new year that we have just rang in, I've also been challenged to do the "Globetrotter 2024" challenge, visit 12 countries, 1 per month throughout the year, so maybe I'm soon coming to a place near you!

Little about me, I'm a bit of a mixed bag, sometimes I travel slow, sometimes I travel fast. Sometimes spontenious, sometimes a planner. Sometimes I walk, hitchhike, bike or fly. I enjoy many different things in life, whatever comes my way. I enjoy meeting and conversing with people from around the globe, no topic is off limits, playing sports, hiking, biking, chess. Have a drink at the beach. A round of laser tag. The sky is the limit, always up for an excuse to try something new and love timely challenges. At home you can often find me listening to music or video essays while going on about my day, wether it be cooking, working or walking around the neighborhood.

For as much as I love to see the sights, I'm a "it's about the journy, not about the destination" type of guy. The journy and it's people is what makes a place worth going for me and I feel very fortunate for having been able to meet so many great people over my many "adventures"

I work remotely, so while I'm living in Vung Tau I have my work in the morning/early afternoon, and then after I can make some time!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is a great way to meet people and locals. Couchsurfing and hostels is definitely how I prefer to travel as you get to meet new people rather then just being by yourself at a hotel. I have met people who still to this day are close friends thanks to Couchsurfing.

Visited Angkor Wat

Got second in a local chess tournament.

Saw my local team win the cup for the first time in nearly 20 years.

Lived in Scotland.

European bicycle trip in the alps.

Lived in Mexico

Playing a grandmaster over the board.

Two months hitchhiking in Europe.

Invited in 9 couchsurfers over the course of two days and had alot of friends over aswell and had a big barbeque with new and old friends.

Lived in Australia.

Watched the cup final Barcelona v Athletico Bilbao at Nou camp

Seen the northern lights.
