About Me

I'm always looking to challenge myself with new and different things.

I hope to never be bored or boring. To that end, I'm always trying new things, going to new places, meeting new people.

Also, I like snakes and insects.

(My photos are out of date and I have to update them. I no longer have hair haha)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing has been one of the best things I've put my time into. I've learned so much from both hosting and surfing, met tons of cool people, seen countless amazing places, tried all sorts of new things, etc. It's invaluable, really.

Interests

In no particular order:
Sustainable living
Exploring abandoned buildings/areas
Writing
Sports (playing, watching, discussing)
Hiking (and outdoor activities of all sorts)
Lively conversations over a drink or coffee.

But, of course, those interests keep expanding and evolving.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many to list. I love books and film, so I can probably discuss a whole bunch of them with you when we meet up. I have a pretty large physical media collection. Music, movies, books abound in my place and I'm always happy to let my guest choose some of them to enjoy if they want a relaxed night in.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Motorbiking around Vietnam and Cambodia. Hiking around big parts of Japan. Trekking for two weeks in the Himalayas. Traveling through Asia, the Middle East, and Europe for almost a year.

Most importantly, however, is meeting all the interesting and independent people that I have in my travels. Constant sources of inspiration, knowledge, and friendship.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always eager to teach and learn about our respective countries, cultures, languages, sports, foods, or whatever! I have many interests and would love to discuss any of them.

Also, since I've traveled extensively, I can always offer advice on any number of destinations, and would love to hear your advice on same.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach you about New York or Japan, my two homes. I'm an ok cook, I know a bit, so maybe we could cook together. If you play sports, I'd be more than happy to join you for whatever. Otherwise, I hope we can share stories of our travels.
