Hi im Joey from Amsterdam. New to couch surfing and curious what its all about. I see a lot of people having a long text in their about me so ill try to write down some stuff also.

I love languages and I went to a few language courses in my life. So I do speak 5 languages which is not uncommon in the netherlands.

I never studied(only high school) so I dont know much about university besides what people tell me. I had many different jobs but then someone told me I can make a lot of money learning programming so I did that and became a freelancer(and sometimes I teach people)

I love sports so I do whatever I can. Swimming, gym, kickboxing, football, tennis and many other things. I also go to the Spa once a week. At the spa there is swimming, sauna, jacuzzi and cold baths and creme and smell rituals.
So it keeps me stress free and young 🫡

You are probably reading this because you want to visit Amsterdam or we used meetup and you are curious 😁 Both are good things. Amsterdam has many faces and ive seen a lot of them. From museums to tulips to 402 stuff to parties and the red light district. Feel free to ask me to guide you around if you want to see or experience them.

About the apartment. Its a really nice place in the city centre(close to van gogh museum). I live here with 2 roommates who are very friendly and helpfull and it goes without saying that you have to be friendly to them also)
The sleeping place is in my part of the apartment and youll have your own bed(couch that turns into a 2 person bed). Blankets and pillows are here so no need to bring anything. Also im a fan of atmosphere so i setup some philips hue lighting, a fireplace and incent and some other stuff. So it will always smell nice.

If you read all this and you still have questions we can always do a call or videocall after I accepted your request.

I know we dont know eachother yet but I do have 1 request. Dont cancel on the last day. Im happy that you visit and I like to meet and hear your stories, but I do plan my days 1-2 days in advance so cancelling the last day is a bit annoying. And I think whoever other surfer you found on the last day is not better anyway 😜

Okay maybe 1 small other request. I like to
meet my guest and get to know you and your culture, so its fun for me to spend time together and show you the cool places and experiences which you wouldnt find on your own. But ofcourse sometimes im a little busy and maybe you want to see some things on your own ofcourse. In these situation communication is key, just send me a message like im expecting to be home around x time. Offcourse I want you to have a good time but I expect some basic consideration in return 😁 Or else it will feel like a hotel and that its not valued. One of my favourite quotes : value is determined by the receiver not by the giver. I see hosting people as helping the community and I hope you see it the same way 🔥
