About Me
Hi, my name's Jonathan! I have a passion for cooking and am always up for an adventure.
I cook professionally and am trying to learn as much as I can as a cook. Whether I am hosting or staying at someone else's place, I am happy to cook - so many of my favorite memories are formed around the table! When traveling, I make sure to stage (intern) at local kitchens and try as much of the local cuisine as possible.
I am always reading a book and working on a project - right now, I'm reading 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami and just finished sewing a roll for my kitchen tools.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I just recently learned about couch surfing and am new to travelling. Money can be a limiting factor for me when traveling, but I am happy to offer my time and effort to whoever is generous enough to host me. I try to be a helpful person in my day-to-day activities, and the same applies to travel - whether that's cooking, cleaning, or having fun person to meet, I hope to bring a little brightness to others' lives.
I often offer my friends and family visiting a spot in my apartment, so I'm excited to host others as well. I am generally a clean person, and love meeting people from all walks of life!

Music, Movies, and Books
My music taste is all over the place, but recently I would say my top three songs are (1) Black Dog - Led Zeppelin, (2) Barcelona Boots - Arlie, and (3) Buddy Holly - Weezer.
I am a huge Wes Anderson fan - my favorite films of his are The French Dispatch and The Grand Budapest Hotel.
Short books with a profound message steal my heart. The Little Prince is literary perfection in my opinion.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I am an Eagle Scout. My project was cooking 100+ meals for those in need in my community.
Teach, Learn, Share
I learned today about public transportation in Japan - it is quite interesting. If you are requesting to stay at my place, include a fun fact about transportation, and you'll get bonus points!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am happy to cook, clean, or run errands. I love both a low key chat and a more rowdy evening. I am also happy to pay you for your generous efforts - I know it's not easy!!
