Hi world, one very optimistic guy is here. I'm Kazutoshi who loves to meet new people from the different cultures, go somewhere by bicycle with no purpose.

I used CouchSurfing to host people in Sapporo, Japan (where I lived) and I travelled through Europe by hitchhiking and staying with hosts in 2017. I recently reactivated my account as my partner and I are traveling to the Philippines and Europe. Our goal is to hitchhike and stay with locals because this is our favorite way to travel. We want to experience the country and its culture, not take photos for social media. We look forward to hosting travelers when we return to New Zealand :)

We have spent the last two years working in Australia and New Zealand. Lief worked as an engineer and I worked in hospitality. Now we are spending half year traveling together. We love to travel with no plans and to be open to the adventure that awaits us. 

I am from Kushiro, Hokkaido, Japan and moved to Vancouver, Canada to be close to my partner. Due to Covid, I returned to Japan until we moved to Australia.
Lief is 32 and was born in Exeter, New Hampshire USA. His CS profile is not recently updated (https://couchsurfing.page.link/8YRT65vyxRk1pm3u9). He moved to Seattle where he worked until moving to Australia.
Now we are residents of New Zealand and our home base is Auckland.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We enjoy meeting new people, visiting new places, and recently pet sitting for families while they are away from home.

We prefer to travel slowly and experience every day life rather than visit a tourist site.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't know I've done something amazing. But some of good experiences of mine are a hitchhiking trip from the north to the south of Japan and another hitchhiking trip from Spain to Romania.
