About Me

I'm born and bred in the city of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

I'm an absolute nut for all things quirky and philosophical. I'm ambitious and adventurous but I also could spend a day staring at clouds or taking care of pigs in the jungle. Essentially, I'm a city girl with a country soul. I've got rhythm in my soul and loves to sing and dance. Generally, I'm a simple 'what you see is what you get' kinda girl. Nothing too fancy. I enjoy soaking up the sun and have mad walking stamina.

Back home, I'm usually working with NGOs and NPOs on education, poverty and rural community development. I'm also studying to be a teacher for elementary school kids.

Right now, I'm a student teacher from Malaysia currently on a teaching internship in Kamakura, Japan. I'll be here till March 2017.

I plan to travel the world as a teacher exploring education everywhere.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

What better way to see the world from foreign couches?

I want to see the world through life as it is and lesser through the tinted lenses of commercialised tourist pads. I wanna meet and make new friends around the world. Connecting with people without any judgement is important to me and so is communication. I'd very much like to do that here :)

I'd like to see the world from various perspectives too.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to mostly everything, but my playlist is loaded with Rock, EDM and some classical.

I enjoy thrillers but I watch pretty much anything too.

I prefer reading non-fiction books on philosophy, politics, research journals and I find instruction manuals particularly interesting.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Got over my lifelong fear of dancing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can cook simple Malaysian snacks and food, weave a traditional Malay rice casing (Ketupat) out of ribbons, teach you to use chopsticks ... and other cool hacks and tricks I can't think of at the moment. There is only one type of dance I can do properly and that's a dance of the Kelabit tribe from Borneo. I can teach you conversational English too! I've been told that I can turn anything into a lesson and I can hold a conversation in almost about anything.

Jack of all trades and master of some, I know bitty pieces of things from my travels and work. Whatever I know, you will eventually to :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Conversations about pretty much anything, simple Malaysian cooking, I clean pretty well. I also can serenade you with a Disney song of your choice.

Countries I’ve Visited

Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, United Kingdom, Viet Nam, Wales
