About Me

I am an Irish gay male living the dream in sunny Gran Canaria. I usually travel for the summer and I am used to receiving guests through Airbnb. I enjoy meeting new people and having new experiences. I am pretty easy going but expect people to be respectful of others. I love food and wine, design, architecture, psychology, cinema, travel, naturism, yoga and animals. I prefer to travel to a location and immerse myself there like a local rather than hopping from place to place. My original career was as an accountant but after this I have worked as a psychologist, owned a restaurant, renovated houses and rented rooms in my homes and am finishing renovating a country house for yoga, mediation and events.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Primarily I like meeting new people, sharing my knowledge of the locality, learning about other cultures and allowing people an opportunity to travel to places that they might not be able to afford otherwise.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't listen to a lot of music and my taste is pretty shameful really - pop music mainly and am partial to a good old gay anthem so people like Pet Shop Boys, Christine and the Queens, Hurts, Snow Patrol, Scissor Sisters etc.

My favourite movies are Shawshank Redemption, Fargo, Brokeback Mountain, 3 Billboards outside Ebbing, No Country for Old Men, Drive, Parasite and anything with Tom Hardy. I like character driven stuff but dont like horror movies much.

Favourite books include Atonement, A Fine Balance, Everything is Illuminated, The Corrections and Middlesex.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The bravest thing I have done is giving up my finance career to try new things and moved countries a number of times. My friends would say it was doing a 10 day silent meditation retreat as I am a chatterbox. I have jumped out of planes, swam with dolphins, swung over canyons, zip lined, scuba dived etc,

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a people pleaser so basically I will try to meet you at least halfway with anything I can teach or share with you. I am always open to new experiences so just ask.
