About Me

Six years ago, I made the exciting move to Vienna to pursue a PhD in materials science at Vienna University of Technology in Austria. I finished this journey a year ago and I am currently working at a research institute in Vienna.

If I had to pick three words that describe me the most, I would choose 'open-minded, talkative, and thoughtful.' Being open-minded allows me to embrace diverse perspectives and engage in meaningful conversations. I genuinely enjoy exchanging ideas, thoughts, and opinions with others, and I am always eager to hear the perspectives and insights of those around me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I was a undergraduate student, I wanted to save some money during my travels in the USA. That didn't work out unfortunately 😃 Now, I'm here to meet new people, expand my horizon and make someone more lucky than I was back then in the USA. Through my couchsurfing experiences as a host, I have come to realize that hosting people who have already hosted others on Couchsurfing brings a different level of connection and friendship. Some of these encounters have blossomed into lasting friendships, with whom I still keep in touch.

Ultimately, Couchsurfing has allowed me to create memorable experiences, connect with inspiring individuals, and share a genuine sense of hospitality. I look forward to continuing this journey, both as a host and as a guest, and creating new connections with fellow travelers around the world.

Interests

Dancing Charleston, Lindy hop, and Blues is the activity I do the most frequently among my hobbies. I love hiking as well and I wish I could do it more often. Similar situation is with reading, which I also enjoy a lot and should read more "Belles-lettres". The next place on the list belongs to cycling. My bike is the usual transportation means for going everywhere around (and beyond) the city. Usually, I try to ride as much as I can in nature. Another hobby that I have is photography, which I usually enjoy during hiking.

Music, Movies, and Books

Among my favorite books, I hold a particular fondness for science fiction. As a result, I wholeheartedly recommend the "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" series, which captivates with its imaginative and humorous take on the genre. Additionally, I love the works of Karel Čapek, finding inspiration and enjoyment in all of his books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

100 % completed Couchsurfing profile 😃 So I would kindly ask you to read it through please; in particular the home description section.

Other than that, I donate blood regularly. Although in general, I hate things that suck blood out of my body.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you go with me to a dancing event, I can teach you how to dance Lindy hop, Charleston, or Blues. I can also bake, and I am always ready to share some wisdom.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If possible, I can bring some food, or beverages from my home country. If not, I can cook something at least. In any case I will share good mood, positive spirit, and my experiences.
