ABOUT ME
- I'm from Bombay (don't like calling it Mumbai).
- Journalist, author and literature festival curator. I'm also a closetted poetess.
- My passions include exploring life, people, places, food...that's culture for you in a nutshell. Be it meeting people in my city and country or places I travel to.
- Travelling is as much about discovering the world outside as it is about discovering yourself. Every place brings out different aspects of you, as do different people. Yes, you guessed right, I like to philosophise.

Depending on my mood I like to do easy, chilled, relaxed trips as much as action-packed or adventurous ones.

- Whenever time permits, I also host a Storytelling Club called Story Corner.

It could be through conversations, travel exchanges, books, you name it. In recent times I've become quite fond of board games and museums too, but only select museums.

Adjectives that describe me best are curious, creative, crazy and quite the critic...intuitive, spontaneous, fun, herbivorous, humourous and honest.

Music: I am not great with music jargon, but I'd say retro, some pop, Indie-pop too, soft rock, a bit of jazz, Sufi, classical both English and Hindi, some trance too, whatever touches me and matches my mood.

Movies? Rom-Com, documentaries, Hollywood mainstream mostly, Bollywood mainstream and alternative.

Books: Whatever tempts me; mostly non-fiction -- history, environment, politics, business, food...A few recent favourites: Born A Crime by Trevor Noah, Fountain Head by Aynn Rand, Reimagining Pakistan by Husain Haqqani, Without Prejudice by Devasis, Zero to One by Peter Thiel. Others - City of Djinns by William Dalrymple, In Cold Blood by Truman Capote, all books by Ram Chandra Guha...I can go on. I have a mini library at home! (PS: Haven't read a lot of books I have.)

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I most relish the little things of life, and they are too many to put here. But what amazes me most is nature. I love it. A very interesting cultural experience I've had was living for a month in a matrilineal society, which is among the few remaining ones in this world.

I think teaching, learning and sharing happen very organically when you meet new people and go to new places. Conversations before we meet can be a good way to understand your specific interests and I can help you in it in a focused manner. But in general I always have a lot of stories to share; tips on creative writing and editing; positive thinking; recipes of my experiments, local treats I've tried at different places I've travelled to domestically and all over the world as well as aspects of India's diverse and vibrant cuisines.
