I'm Sergei, originally from Saint-Petersburg, Russia. Like many others from my country, I left, due to war related political situation, which I don't support, so in recent couple of years, eventually, I could say without complaints that I became sort of a nomad. When I was a kid, I spent 6 years in Israel, so I speak hebrew fluently. At this moment I'm visiting my aunt, who's living in Germany, and I thought it would be a great idea to travel around Europe a little bit. I'm an easy going, communicative and friendly person, with a good sense of humour, I have a big traveling experience, especially in India and Asian countries, so I have lots of stories to tell.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I found this platform few years ago, when I was able and wanted to host people in my hometown Saint-Petersburg. I was led by curiosity and big interest for communication with foreign tourists. However, this attempt wasn't lucky, because soon after that my life circumstances turned out to be different than they were before and eventually I couldn't be a host anymore. Right now I lead a nomad life, and while having a deep passion for travelling, I must say some dreams came true, so I would love to explore new places, that I haven't been to before as well as meet local people and make new friends

Interests

First of all my main hobby is music - I sing, play guitar, bass, drums and a little bit of piano. Some time before I used to play in several bands as well as I did some home records that were made only by myself playing on all instruments. Mostly I was playing acoustic rock, grunge, hard rock and etc.
Also I used to be into photography, mostly landscapes, but some portraits too, however right now, since I'm on the road I took a break from this activity
Apart from this, I used to write short stories before, and right now I'm slowly working on a novel, that's going to tell a story about some of my adventures in India, mixed up with some fiction as well

My favorite music is 80s-90s rock and metal. Also I like progressive trance, psychill and some other types of electronic music.
My favorite movies are Blow, People Vs Larry Flint, The Lighthouse, Into The Wild and many more.
My favorite books are "Factotum" by Charles Bukowski, "Bad Wisdom" by Mark Manning/Bill Drummond, "The Dharma Bums" by Jack Kerouac, "Three Comrades" by Erich Maria Remarque and etc.
