One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During my stay in Barcelona, a memorable evening unfolded on the cobbled streets of the Gothic Quarter. It was the night of La Mercè Festival, a Catalonian celebration in honor of the city's patron saint.

Guided by distant rhythms and the palpable excitement in the air, I ventured towards Plaça Sant Jaume, where a lively crowd gathered. Fireworks burst into the starlit sky, illuminating the facades of historic buildings.

As I navigated through the sea of people, I was drawn to the enchanting sound of live music. Inside a small bar, a group of talented musicians played Catalonian rumba, creating a lively atmosphere that spilled into the adjacent streets.

Inspired by the infectious music, I was invited to dance by cheerful locals. The night transformed into a symphony of laughter, graceful movements, and animated conversations in a myriad of languages. We shared moments of pure joy, lost in the magic of this unique night.

At midnight, the crowd migrated towards the beach, where a fireworks display over the Mediterranean brought the evening to a crescendo. As the last sparks faded, I remained on the sand, marveling at the spontaneity of this adventure that made La Mercè Festival in Barcelona an unforgettable experience.
