I've been a full-time single father the last decade +. My daughter is now an EMT and working away from home part time. I've gone back to school to study fine art. I used to be a metal worker and before that I taught English overseas (where my daughter was born). I've been getting back in to meditation retreats, both meditating and volunteering. I live off-grid but still watch too much Netflix. I don't smoke or drink or consume drugs. Coffee with friends is about my speed. I love to bike and row and walk. Sometimes I swim in cold water. I can cook a bit. I do dishes. And I split wood. I need some time to myself morning and evening to keep up my meditation practice. And I have some online work and school that I'm keeping up on.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm currently on a trip to visit an ailing relative on the other side of the country. I wanted to take the train and to see art along the way instead of flying.

I spend a lot of time watching quirky comic derived TV with my daughter. We also love costume dramas. I can never get anyone to watch Anna and the Apocalypse with me. My current favorite playlist is one with a lot of Americana. My tastes are all over the map but I don't often listen to music.

I've done lots of cool travel things but nothing compares to delivering my daughter.
