I have surfed and now I want to host a bit until I can go travelling again... hopefully soon!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have crashed at friends houses, especially in Toronto and Montreal but mostly my experience has been to have people stay with me... and this was all before i heard of the term "couch surfing" wheeeeee! Now that I have couch surfed through the website I can say that it far surpassed my expectations and it makes me realize that people are kinder and more generous than we give them credit for. Couch surfing has taken away a sense of cynicism that I was beginning to develop living in a city because it shows you how strangers are just friends you haven't been introduced to yet. was that cheesy? yes, yes indeed, but i think it is true.

Travelling alone for 6 weeks was pretty amazing... I got to know myself and my limitations

Don't hesitate to give someone a hug or to ask for one when you need it... Ask questions even if it makes you feel dumb (you might sound dumb to ask but you will BE dumb if you never find out the answer)... Smile at strangers, some will give you dirty looks but most will smile back... Wear sunscreen and always brush your teeth!
