About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Be able to change my French language status to Intermediate not beginner!
ABOUT ME
I grew up in a small town in Queensland and have retained my soft spot for villages and rural places despite loving the variety of big cities like Sydney! I lived in Sydney for 4.5 years, Spain for 8 months, and Albury (a regional city in Australia) for 2 years. I've now returned to my home town to work at the Toowoomba Hospital.
PHILOSOPHY
I try to make the most of my experiences while allowing time to just enjoy being. I also try to keep things in perspective - and realise how insignificant my problems are!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I joined couchsurfing when I was living and studying in Spain on exchange for six months in 2008. I wanted to immerse myself in Spanish language and culture while travelling around Spain. I have been grateful to have made some great friends and had many awesome experiences couchsurfing here. I have since hosted many people, mainly when I lived in Sydney. I'm hoping to keep hosting now that I have moved to Queensland and be involved in activities within the Toowoomba group.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I started couchsurfing in Spain in February 2008. I couchsurfed several times in Spain and also on my trips to Morocco, Italy and Edinburgh. I also hosted a couple of times in Leon, Spain.
Having returned to Australia, I have now hosted a number of travellers - all Europeans, interestingly: 3 French girls, 1 German girl, 2 Swedish people, 1 English guy, 1 Portuguese guy and 1 Spanish girl! Not sure of the reason for the predominance of Europeans???
Since I left Sydney two years ago, I have had very few couchsurfers. I would encourage people to experience rural Australia if they have time. Please come to visit!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My exchange semester in Spain has been amazing! I know everyone says that studying abroad etc is amazing and opens your eyes and it sounds cliched but I have had the most amazing, enjoyable and eye-opening experience living in Spain for 6 months.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love comparing and sharing languages - I can help teach English!
I also love cooking and experimenting with food - a passion that I can share.
