ABOUT ME

i have a bachlors degree in environmental & resurce management and i am studying a masters in environmental policy and planning.

i love photography and music. i used to play guitar in a hardcore/punk band for 7 years. the same goes for photography. photography is also about respecting cultures and setting the context right. i dislike the fact that people take pictures and separate the image from the context which very often results in the refortification of stereotypes and misunderstandings.

i love books. my favorite author is john steinbeck. i generally like 19th and early 20th century american and english literature, good science-fiction such as books by pk dick or wells.

i love talking. i can talk for hours about anything.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i do not only participate exlusively on couchsurfing. i frequently let people stay at my home. i think such things should also be promoted outside of internet portals. however, it is extremely advantageous to have such a network to quickly connect to people who share the same idea. especially when we are travelling in parts of the world where we dont know anybody.

Music, Movies, and Books

i grew up with hardcore and punk music. i went through a phase when i was 16 where i became a music-nazi. however, some weeks later i realized that deleting all kinds of music that dont fit your current taste is incredibly stupid. shortly after that phase i developed a very diverse taste of music including honest music from all kinds of genres. my favorite bands are: gorillaz, souljazz orchestra, buena vista social club, mice parade, refused, ...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

learn to play musical instruments which really changed my life and connected me to people. learn languages which enabled me to learn about different cultures and people.
