I love travelling and I always go. I never stay at home on holidays. I love salsa (on one), bachata and also kizomba (not so perfect). I go scuba diving from time to time, play beach volleyball - well not the best, but enthusiastic :-). I am easy going guy. I guess, I understand that for a good conversation you not only have to tell a good story, but also have to have the gift of listening to your partner in conversation.
I like going into the mountains on a weekend day or even staying over night in Austria or Garmisch to get the full embrace of the mountains. The Alps and a lot of the villages or towns like Salzburg can be very beautiful on a sunny day.
In the summer the lakes around Munich are famously picturesque and perfect for swimming. Did you know that most lakes south of Munich have a water quality that is almost drinking water?
But, the best is also so close. The English Garden is onle a couple of minutes from my place, the Seehaus Biergarden ist famous, the Eisbach Surfers and when you go for a walk you can reach Hofgarten where - if you know when - you can watch the jolly crowd dance bachata and kizomba at Diana Temple.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A friend from New York told me about this site and I am curious. Now that I have made my first experiances I really like the idea of it. In the past years the cost of travelling has exploded. Yet travelling is such an enriching experience, it helps people come together, helps them understand the world and the cultures within. Understanding means peace in all forms. I believe travelling should be possible for everyone and CS is the perfect way to help and of course the perfect way to really connect with people from distant and very distant places.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Saved a puffer fish in an abandoned fisher net from sure death. His fish wife was watching and thanking me while I was tearing up the net to free the fish. For me that was a great reward just to see the mummy fish so happy.

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach salsa for a good cause - but not as often as I should. But if you are interested, I can teach you the basics of salsa and/or bachata in one hour. But be warned, you might get addicted ;-)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good company, a glas of wine and a good story. Oh, and I do try to cook the occasional Thai curry or even some fusion food. (Asian-Bavarian is my favourit ;-)
