ABOUT ME
I gave up living the corporate life to cycle half way across the world. There was just something about working in quarries that wasn't quite right. Even now, I search for the answer to that question "what was it about quarries?", and often stay up late into the night drawing diagrams to help me find the answer, or wake up in a cold sweat having dreamt that I was about to have that eureka moment.
Whatever happens, I don't regret the decision one little bit.
I'm now a PhD student in Geology...looking at mud. Life gets better and better!!! :o)
PHILOSOPHY
Expect nothing and everything's a bonus
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
The arrangement I have at the house means I can't host all the people I'd like to; if you're in need of a place, I'm sure I can provide one. I'll always be up for meeting for a coffee or a pint, but hosting may be a little more difficult. Just drop me a line and see what I say (though put the word "pygmybeardogs" into the email just so I know you've actually read this crap)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I stayed with a few people on my cycle trip from India to Ireland. Couchsurfing must be one of the best ways to travel. I met some truly fantastic idividuals.
Interests
Not cycling; Anything and everything to do with the outdoors; Rocks; Well rounded, poorly sorted, angular sandstone clasts in a mudstone matrix; Environmental hippiedom.

Music, Movies, and Books
I only have favourite films.
Shantaram was an awful book.
Short stories by Saki are always good.
Collapse by Jared Diamond was interesting.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I did a frontflip off a 9m ledge and landed in the water lying flat on my back. It hurt like hell, but I went back up and got it on the 3rd attempt.
